Van Hool supplies 18 coaches for intercity transport in Poland and neighbouring countries. Polski Bus is setting up new bus routes from Poland. And 18 TD921 Altano coaches have been purchased from VAN HOOL for this. An initiative of Souter Investments, the idea is based on the Megabus concept, which has already been successfully introduced in the United Kingdom and the United States.
On 6 June Polski Bus’s new intercity bus routes were inaugurated in Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw and Katowice. Polski Bus will operate regular services with Gdansk, Stettin, Krakow, Lublin, Lodz, Bydgoszcz and Bialystok in Poland from these hubs. In addition, there will also be services to Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Bratislava. The TD921 Altano from VAN HOOL is ideal for this work. As a high-decker with an underfloor cockpit, it has room for 72 passengers, 67 on the upper deck and 5 on the lower deck. A double seat on the lower deck is easily removed to make room for a wheelchair. The bodylux seats, upholstered in red leather, are very comfortable and luxurious. And the coach’s enormous luggage hold is an added asset. The coach is 14.96 m long and has a total height of 3.73 m.
